Anglo Printers Environmental Standards
Fri May 5, 2017
At Anglo Printers we have always been passionate about helping to sustain the environment. This has led to us adopting sustainable environmental standards in relation to our print materials, processes and practices from ‘Green’ paper to recycling. We ensure that our activities do not adversely affect the environment by managing our operations in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Systems Standard. Anglo Printers also operates in accordance with ISO 9001:2008, the Quality management systems standard.
Our journey has included the purchase of greener technologies such as our Komori GL540C HUV. The ‘G’ of the Lithrone GL40 stands for ‘Green’. This symbolises Komori and Anglo’s stance on the environment. The GL40 promotes Green printing by reducing consumable and energy usage and lowering the carbon footprint of print.
Paper is one of the most recycled products in the world and we recycle 100% of waste paper from our printing and finishing processes. Our recent investment in a vacuum waste extraction system ensures all waste paper is efficiently moved to a compactor, and then taken for recycling.
We are focused on our impact on the environment and are one of just a few Irish print companies accredited by both the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification). All of the paper we use is from Managed sources and 95% of our supplies are PEFC or FSC certified, which provides reassurance that our products are from sustainable sources.
Processes which support our environmental objectives:
Short run Digital printing allows us to only print the quantity which is needed.
Our bindery systems are set up to ensure waste minimisation in the finishing processes
Unused inks are responsibly recycled
All our waste chemistry is recycled & we only use certified disposal experts.
Our print estimators keep waste paper reduction in mind when pricing a job
We will continue to adopt ‘green’ and sustainable policies, procedures, materials and printing technologies into the future. We look forward to working with our suppliers and customers in helping to create a sustainable environment for future generations. If you are looking to incorporate green printing into your ‘print’ marketing materials such as brochures and flyers we would be delighted to partner with you.
